At The Breast Choice Lactation, we believe birth is sacred, and the hands that guide families through it deserve to be lifted high. This National Midwifery Week, we pause to honor and celebrate the midwives who stand at the frontlines of family care — protecting birth, centering choice, and walking alongside parents with skill, strength, and compassion.
Midwives Are More Than Providers
Midwives are keepers of wisdom, advocates for safe care, and partners in healing. Their presence reminds families that birth is not only about outcomes, but about experience. With midwives, families are seen, respected, and supported through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
We honor them because they:
Protect the right to choice and dignity in childbirth
Support safer birth experiences with fewer unnecessary interventions
Provide care that respects each family’s unique needs and values
Lay the foundation for strong breastfeeding beginnings and healthier communities
Our Partnership With Midwives
At The Breast Choice, our work flows directly from the foundation midwives build. They are often the first to encourage skin-to-skin, the first to cheer on that early latch, and the first to connect families to lactation support. Together, we form a circle of care — a team that uplifts families not just in the delivery room, but in every feeding, every question, and every milestone that follows.
That is why we deeply value our midwifery partners. Whether in a birth center, at home, or in a hospital, midwives make it possible for us to continue this work of healing our community through breastfeeding.

This week, and every week, we celebrate the power of midwifery.
